Three Stops at Subic

Aside from the free port and the duty free shopper's paradise that Subic boasts to its tourists, it is not all steady and urban, it houses a number of adventure thrills so one doesn't just stay on a comfy bed, eat good food or shop 'til you drop.

Let's me tell you three outdoor spots you sure can't miss when you are in Subic.

Along with my travel blogger mates, we were off to an adventure packed day. As we were all the outdoorsy type, we sensed that the next few hours will be nothing but fun, and fun it was indeed.

Tree Top Adventure. With a variety of their rides from zipline to silver surfer. You will catch yourself craving for more flying parallel to tall trees. This is a good place to keep those adrenaline rushing.

While enjoying the fun, you get to be in-touch with nature as well. The spectacular view and breathing fresh air completes the whole experience. They offer packages from PhP 400 to Php 1120 depending on the rides you want to hop on.

I personally prefer to go there when the sun isn't beaming so bright so you can enjoy being exposed outdoors.

Just trailed along with the Tree Top Adventure is The Jest Camp which stands for Jungle Environment Survival Training Camp.

As the name suggests, this is a camping site for the scouts, for a group of friends or for colleagues who need some time and place to go out for some team building activities.

You get to catch your own food in the forest, cook them in bamboo shells and get a feeling of being expatriated in the jungle. You are never too old to achieve your scout badge ;).

Tip: Come in proper attire when you go camping and trekking. :))

Jest Camp has a survival school which is unique in the Philippines and offers a Jungle Survival Certification upon completion of the program. This might just be perfect for your kids if they have nothing to do during summer.

This usually is a well-recommended place to get along with your peers, develop team collaboration values. You can plan your games ahead with a number of options to start with.

Up next, I am not a huge fan of Zoo's but an invitation to come see tigers an inch away after watching Life of Pi's Richard Parker, I couldn't say no!

Not only was I able to encounter feeding these gracefully fierce animals, I also got to witness a different specie - the White Tiger and a whole lot more of faunas which most I haven't seen since time immemorial.

The tiger encounter was breathtaking, you need to prepare Php200 though for the poor chicken that will find shelter in the fangs of these gracefully horrid creatures. Still, tigers are so adorable. Specially when they are made of wool and cotton. :p

Zoobic Safari is the only tiger safari in the Philippines. You can spend about 3-4 hours in the whole place. They also have a night safari to enjoy the zoo when the only ones shining are the stars, the moon and a pair of wicked eyes, making the tiger encounter more exciting!
