I have been very excited about my summer this year and I have been wishful from the start that I can have at least one escapade under the painful heat of the sun. I am fascinated about the outdoors and since the Philippines is a summer-friendly country, I have been patient in looking for a summer adventure.
If you have read through my posts this summer, you would have seen that a stay-cation in Makati was my way to have a summer kick off. Months have passed and the season has now grown old but I haven't had the chance yet to go on a vacation. So what better way to end the season but a relaxing stay-cation once again!
Soon after my fellow blogger-slash-friend-slash-personal villain (because I am a superhero after all) Robbie opened the idea of a pampering weekend at Bellevue Hotel Manila in Alabang, it was a whooping Yes! And after days of delay, we finally got to spend leisure in a five-star hotel down south with Renz and Mica.
I have always been curios about Alabang, I get to pass by this area on some events before but never did I had the chance to be up close and personal about this town. I live up north and Filinvest City in Alabang was ridiculously just out of my way. The place was vibrant and it gives me a feeling of actually traveling overseas.
The calm yet modern ambiance was exactly what I wanted to have. But I am a little disappointed on how cab drivers get to be subtly and discreetly out of control in this part of the metro. I'm sure you know what I mean.
But that shouldn't over power a well deserved weekend of pampering. Bellevue Hotel Manila was sleek in its look and feel. Among all the staycation experiences I was able to have, this is the only hotel that I get to bump with lot of local celebrities.
Tripadvisor awards Bellevue Hotel with a Certificate of Excellence in 2012 and 2013.
Guests pay the extra for a delightful luxury experience and I believe Bellevue gives that exactly. The wooden floors instead of the usual carpeted room is a special concept that I was able to appreciate from this hotel. You see it is very hard to maintain a shiny wooden flooring compared to just a vacum cleaner-easy floor.
The entire stay was free from activities, at least for me that is. I wanted to have a lazy laid back day under the soft sheets and catching a nap from time to time while over looking the entire city from the 11th floor or juggling over Robbie and Mica's room from across the hallway.
The bathroom was functionally designed to save space while having enough room to enjoy your rain shower. Everything that a five star hotel needs to have were in tact.
My favorite part of the hotel is its swimming pools which were located at the third floor of the Main and the Tower wing. Having said that, you might get a picture of what it looks like, and yes, it is overlooking the skyscrapers in Alabang. Something I was really excited to see.
During the day, the pool is a place for family and friends wishing to have a moment of swimming and splasing, at night, it reveals itself as a party hub for the hip ones craving for some fun, drinks and dance - at the pool side! If I were in the mood to change and dress up, I wouldn't have had missed the fun that night.
The Traditional Buffet Breakfast greeted us the next morning. I was starving when I woke up and I never got the chance to have extra photos of the morning aside from this Instagram post. You can also follow me @thewanderdan.
My summer wrap-up weekend was surely what I needed and what I was hoping for. I wasn't playing with white sand on the beach but this has indeed sufficed, with cherry on top.
