The Little Things of Makati Shangri La

When international personalities land in Manila, they are housed to nowhere else but Makati Shangri La. The doors of this five star hotel have welcomed a variety of names from Hollywood actors and singers to business tycoons to influential politicians. I have always wondered why Shangri La remains a top choice even if it stands amidst an avenue of luxury hotels. What does it take to be best and how do you really set yourself apart? This is a question we all should be asking ourselves and who's answers are surprisingly found on this stay-cation.

To start with, the best thing about this hotel is that it is strategically located in the heart of the central business district. It is a stone's throw away to a number of restaurants, a few hops to major malls and a few minutes away from the airport. 

The next thing that one could easily grasp upon entering its doors is it's being fancy. Makati Shangri La takes the effort to continuously redefine what it means to be called, luxurious.

Makati Shangri-La looks closely on the little details of every inch of the hotel and its meticulous choice of interiors from lights to carpets has answered my initial question.

Well maybe yes, they did well as a first impression. But was their rooms consistent to their brand? This was how I wanted to summon our stay at this hotel.

A dome-like room was what welcomed us, this gives the illusion of a spacious length, glazed by maple varnished-walls which gives a classy tang to the room. It was well-fashioned although seasoned, the choice of linens were beyond the usual as well. The toilet was perfectly neat and tidy and the rest was exactly how I thought it would be.

 

I was hoping though to see a swimming pool that is at par with the intricate details it has given to the rest of the hotel. It might have fallen relatively short to how I would expect Shangri La design their swimming pool, however it looks quite still a place to unwind and refuel your energy.

Probably Makati Shangri La's close attention to details has set them apart from the rest of the luxury brands in Manila. This is what defined them as the best in this field, something we can learn from. That it is the smallest things that creates the biggest impacts. This would be their or even our best niche amongst others, this is what truly makes them five star. As they continue to live up to this, they are set to for continuous international patronage.
